Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste!
As a final consumer, you are legally obliged to dispose of used batteries properly. You can return old batteries or rechargeable batteries free of charge after use in your immediate vicinity (e.g. at municipal collection points or in shops).
Batteries or rechargeable batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out waste bin. This means that they must not be disposed of with household waste. The chemical name of the pollutant is located next to the dustbin symbol, in case certain limit values are exceeded:
- "Cd“ stands for: contains more than 0.002 percent of cadmium by weight
- "Pb“ stands for: contains more than 0.004 percent of lead by weight
- "Hg“ stands for: contains more than 0.0005 percent of mercury by weight
